SPRING DIRECT DONATION CAMPAIGN ► MARCH 30 - APRIL 15, 2016
$10,000 STILL NEEDED
THANK YOU to all of the Humbercrest families who have already very generously donated to the online only QSP and direct donation campaign from the Fall! We cannot reach our goal without your support!
After moving away from our traditional Fall QSP campaign, we only raised $5000 of our $15,000 yearly goal.
We still need $10,000 to support the purchase of the school's needs list
- Set of 30 iPads (a set for each floor) $10,800
- One more computer per classroom (33 TOTAL): $ 10,000
- 3 SMART boards (JK/SK/PRIMARY) $ 4,500
- A new alto saxophone $ 1,000
- 2 new clarinets $ 900
- Storage for senior music instruments $ 2,400
- 10 Ukuleles (Gr. 4/5) $ 100
Much of the money that SoFun raises goes toward funding the STEM and Music programs at Humbercrest. These efforts support the accessibility of technology and music for all students!

SoFun will be working with SugarPop to provide fresh popcorn for our school on designated Fridays for a fun afternoon snack. Our popcorn snack days will be:
- February 26
- March 31
- April 29
- May 27
- June 24th
The popcorn will be packaged in 4 cup tubs which are eco-friendly, reuse-able and recycle-able. They can be re-sealed so leftover popcorn can be brought home and shared. The popcorn is lightly salted and buttered and is 100% peanut, nut, and gluten free. It also falls under the TDSB policy as a healthy snack.
All five popcorn snack days will cost $10 in total. The popcorn will be delivered to the classroom teacher who will distribute it during afternoon classes. Popcorn will keep in the airtight container so teachers will keep popcorn for absent students.
Orders must be placed by Monday February 22nd.
Thanks for your support!
Elementary students should have received their fall progress reports on December 10, 2015. As part of the tentative agreement, teachers will conduct parent interviews at their discretion if the teacher has a concern about a child’s progress. If you have concerns about your child’s progress after receiving the progress report, please contact the teacher directly.
Go to the HumbercrestPS store.
(Please combine family orders into your shopping cart to reduce our processing transaction fees.)

Please start your visit at the Office.
To help keep children and staff safe and decrease unnecessary traffic in the halls, please follow the Humbercrest Visitor Check-in procedure:
- All visitors must come to the office to check in and get a visitor badge. This includes parents and visitors for any length of time. All visitors must wear the badge while in the school.
- If you are dropping off items like lunches, shoes, extra clothes, homework for your child, please come to the office and we will make sure your child receives the item.
Police Check Required for Parent Volunteers
- All volunteers must have a police check completed to volunteer in the classroom/school.
- The TDBS has an expedited process to have police checks completed. Forms are available in the office and the cost is approximately $20.
Our parking lot is for staff only. Teachers are having difficulty finding a spot to park in the morning.
Parents, please use the Drop Zone to drop children off for school in the morning.
Our School Library Website provides a wealth of online resources available 24/7 from home and school. Check it out: http://www.tdsb.on.ca/Findyour/Schools/LibraryCat.aspx?schoolNo=6346
A couple of great sites for K-3 are Bookflix (watch/listen to storybooks read aloud — password available from school), and PebbleGo (a primary science database — password available from school). All home use passwords are on our Virtual Library Learnmark that was given to all students — see the office or the school library if you need another copy.
